Be sure to use the latest EyeTV software (version 1.8.1 as of right now) as I read that older versions were troublesome.ĪlchemyTVDvr Follow-Up.After one week of "average" use I can say that this is indeed a cool product - WHEN THE SOFTWARE DOESN'T BITE ASS.First off, getting TitanTV to integrate with their software really doesn't work. I think its more a problems with my standalone Toshiba DVR than with the EyeTV.In short, I can really recommend the EyeTV 200 with no reservations. The DVDs are dark and silent when played on the Toshiba DVR, but work perfectly on the Pioneer DVD player (and also on several Macs and PCs I've tried). Its extremely easy and the quality is very good (I use the default MPEG2 "Standard (DVD 120 min)" encloding).The recorded shows and recorded DVDs are of good quality (equal to that of my standalone Toshiba RD-XS32 DVR), but play better on my standalone DVD player (Pioneer DVL-909 DVD/LD Player) than on the Toshiba DVR. I've recorded a few old home videos via composite video (from my VCR) and a number of shows via the EyeTV's built-in tuner, and recorded them to DVD (using Toast) with no problems. ![]() It makes recording shows extremely easy and foolproof. I really like the TitanTV TV guide and how its so well-integrated with the EyeTV device. The software is simple to use, stable, and works well. I'm really quite pleased with it.It doesn't install any drivers (kexts) it appears to work entirely via the built-in Mac Firewire driver. I just recently bought an Elgato EyeTV 200. ![]()
